The volunteers at the Hesston Steam Museum are dedicated to telling the stories of our historic steam powered equipment.
To do an effective job of telling that story we feel that it is critical that the equipment operates. Actually running the equipment sparks the imagination and wonder in our guests especially young people.
We are always looking for ways to reach out to schools and students. This movement not only reaches people 2 generations removed from the era our artifacts come from, but draws youth to our organization.
In 2007 we hosted more then 500 students and parents in our first ever Hesston School Day event.
In 2009 we gave our first scholarship away to graduating high school senior.
In 2010 we plan to give a "bussing grant" to an area school so students can have a fun and educational free field trip.
What else can we do? With your help, we can do anything. If you would like to donate to our education committee so we can reach more students or help in developing new ideas,
Please contact us.
Please consider a donation to the help our education program, we believe it is very important part of our organization.
